  3. What is the average number of hours worked per week?

  4. The accounting industry is a seasonal industry which experiences fluctuation in demand throughout the year. There will be times when more work is required than at other times during the year and vice versa.  On the whole our folks work less than the industry average. The 2014 IPA Benchmarking Report showed the following statistics:

  5. What is your PTO Policy?

  6. At MCG, we believe that our employees work hard and should have opportunities to enjoy time away from work to help balance their lives, relax, and creatively recharge. In addition, we are committed to create a culture of personal responsibility and mutual trust. We want our vacation and time off policy to reflect both of these elements.  We also believe you should take responsibility for managing your own time and communicating openly within your group to support one another, whenever possible, with our work load and client commitments.  To this end, MCG has an Open Paid Time Off (“PTO”) policy for our full-time exempt employees where each employee is afforded the flexibility to take off for personal matters, vacation, and illness, as well as to shift schedules as necessary.  With Open PTO, we do not track or limit employee vacation times or sick days.

Effectively, this means that there is no accrual of PTO hours that can be “banked” and used throughout the year. The Firm observes eight standard federal holidays. Short- and long-term disability, family medical leave, and other leaves of absence are handled separately.

Time off may be limited during certain times of the year due to deadlines and departmental needs. Communication with your team and supervisor is key to ensuring that there will be coverage of your responsibilities during your time away.

Due to time tracking and overtime regulations for non-exempt staff, Open PTO is available only to full time, exempt employees. Full time and part time non-exempt employees will accrue PTO for every hour worked based on the date of hire. Over the course of a full year, a full time non-exempt employee can expect to accrue 15 days of PTO in addition to eight federal holidays and two floating holidays.
