Brian joined the Firm as a Partner in April 2008. His primary
areas of responsibility include accounting for income taxes (FAS
109 and FIN 48), tax issues related to accounting for share based
payments (FAS 123R), corporate tax compliance and planning, accounting
period and methods issues, transactional services, audit representation
in income tax audits. He works with closely held entities as well
as publicly traded companies.
Prior to joining Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP, Brian spent
six years at KPMG, LLP and four years at Arthur Andersen, LLP
as a Tax Managing Director in the Federal Tax Services group.
Brian was the lead partner Southwest region over the Global Tax
Transformation Services (GTTS). This group primarily provides
services related to review of client’s tax function including
a review of process, people and technology compared to best practices.
He was also part of the KPMG’s national FAS 109 Resource
Team. Brian has spent extensive time assisting clients with FAS
109, FIN 48 and FAS 123R issues, and teaching multiple training
seminars on those issues. He also managed a large client load
of multiple Fortune 500 tax and audit clients of the firm operating
in the manufacturing, retail, communications, and restaurant,
technology and hospitality sectors. In addition, he was a member
of firm’s national Accounting Methods and Research Credit
Services team. While at KPMG and Andersen, Brian was involved
in large corporate compliance and consulting, large partnership
compliance and consulting, IRS representation, accounting method
change implementations, and the management of multiple clients
in all aspects of federal, state/local and international compliance.
Prior to serving at KPMG and Arthur Andersen, Brian served for
four years in the corporate tax department of Southwestern Bell
Mobile Systems and SBC. During this time, Brian developed experience
in multiple disciplines of federal and state taxation including
accounting methods, fixed asset issues and accounting for income
taxes.
Brian received his BS in Accounting from the University of Texas
at Dallas in 1994. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas
and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
