Dustin Shaffer

 

Dustin joined the firm as a manager in February 2007. His primary disciplines include tax compliance and consulting for closely held businesses and high wealth individuals and/or individuals who are business owners, large corporate tax compliance and tax planning, accounting period and methods issues, audit representation in income tax audits, tax provision (FAS 109) calculations and consultation with respect to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes (FASB interpretation No. 48). He works with closely held entities as well as publicly traded companies.

Prior to joining Montgomery Coscia Greilich, LLP, Dustin spent over a year at Neiman Marcus as an income tax manager; four years at KPMG, LLP as a senior and staff in the Federal Tax Services group; and two years at Arthur Andersen, LLP as a Staff in the Federal Tax Services group. At Neiman Marcus, Dustin was in charge of managing the income tax compliance and FAS 109 processes as well as initiating tax planning opportunities both internally and with external tax advisors. While at KPMG and Andersen, Dustin was involved in large corporate Federal and state compliance and consulting, large partnership compliance and consulting, IRS representation, accounting method change implementations, and the management of multiple clients in all aspects of Federal, state/local and international compliance. Dustin also spent time consulting on FAS 109 for numerous clients. Currently, Dustin’s clients operate in the high technology, manufacturing, retail and private equity investment sectors. He also works with multiple individuals who are business owners.

Dustin received his Bachelor of Accountancy as well as his Masters of Accountancy from the University of Oklahoma in 2000. Dustin is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
