James is the Firm's state and local sales and use Tax Partner. His primary disciplines include managing all state and local transaction tax services including compliance, sales and use tax planning, due diligence, audit representation, exposure analysis and taxability matrixes. James has substantial experience in the telecommunications, restaurant, software and manufacturing sectors.

James joined Coscia Greilich & Company LLP in February 2002. While there he managed all the state and local sales tax services and created significant refund opportunities for several clients. James was directly responsible for the implementation of sales tax outsourcing for various companies, some of which are large, publicly traded companies. James also obtained considerable tax savings for many clients during audit representation utilizing his extensive knowledge of the tax laws and experience with audit techniques.

Prior to joining Coscia Greilich & Company LLP, James spent nearly six years with Montgomery Baggett & Drews LLP. James was the senior sales tax manager at MBD and managed the firm's sales tax department. Under his management, services provided by the sales tax department included compliance, audit representation and strategic planning, due diligence, sales tax planning, exposure analysis, and product taxability matrixes.

Prior to serving at MBD, James spent seven years at the Texas State Comptroller's Office. James was a senior auditor who performed a variety sales and use tax, mixed beverage tax, diesel fuel tax, motor vehicle tax and hotel occupancy tax audits. James specialized in sales and use tax audits of priority one accounts in which computer assisted auditing was applied. As a senior auditor, James was assigned Fortune 500 companies with multinational operations.

James graduated from the University of Texas in 1989 and is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
