Matt is the Firm's lead Tax Partner. His primary disciplines include tax planning, transactional services, in particular transaction
cost analysis, due diligence and structuring of acquisitions and divestitures, facilitating income tax audits, transfer pricing analysis,
tax provision (FAS 109) calculations and Sarbanes-Oxley consulting with respect to the income tax function. He works with large publicly
traded companies, closely held entities and their owners, high net worth individuals and professional athletes.
Prior to forming Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP, Matt spent over two years at Montgomery
Baggett & Drews LLP, a local CPA firm. Matt acted as the lead senior tax manager at MBD and managed the firm's largest business clients.
While at MBD, Matt was involved in IRS representation, transactional and
structural design, litigation support, estate planning and asset protection. Matt led many due diligence projects including acquisitions in
Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States.
Prior to serving at MBD, Matt served over seven years at Ernst & Young, LLP. Matt worked in the entrepreneurial services group at
Ernst & Young and spent time in the Tulsa, Washington DC and Dallas offices. He was one of 40 tax professionals selected nationwide to
assist in the reorganization of Ernst & Young's tax practice and assisted in its rollout to the Southwest Area.
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas in May 1991. He is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has been published several times in their national tax magazine, "The Tax
Advisor". Additionally, he has been a guest lecturer at a Dallas college.
